
At Golden West Leather Co, we don't just make products; we craft heirlooms. Custom leatherwork is a slow, intentional process that requires premium materials and focused hours at the bench. We don’t take shortcuts to lower our costs. We take the time to ensure our work lasts.
1. The Consultation
Every great project starts with a conversation. Send your ideas, sketches, or reference photos to austin@goldenwestleather.com. We will discuss your vision, leather choices, and hardware to ensure we’re the right fit for your project.
2. Design & Deposit
Before we cut into any leather, we must finalize the blueprint. All custom projects require a non-refundable Design Fee to cover the time spent on patterns and sourcing. This fee is required before construction begins:
- Simple Designs: $50
- Advanced Designs: $100

Complex/Original Designs: $150+
Note: For larger projects, a down payment may be required to offset material costs.
3. Handcrafted Build
Once the design is approved and the fee is paid, your project enters the workshop queue. We take the "hard way" here—hand-cutting, stitching, and hand-finishing every inch to ensure your piece lasts a lifetime.
4. Final Payment & Delivery
When your piece is off the bench and passes final inspection, we will send you photos of the finished work. 100% of the remaining balance is required before shipment. Once paid, your custom leather good is carefully packed and sent from our bench to your door step.
